He took many courses in scuba diving and obtained certifications in advanced diving, underwater navigation, ice diving, deep diving, search and recovery.
Terry is an outdoor enthusiast and incorporates many skills for his passion of adventuring. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of rock and ice climbing, overland navigation, mountaineering and survival. One of his strengths is that of expedition leader with extensive planning and safety.
On 10 Sep 2020 Terry founded ngurunwild.ca “Never Give Up – Run Wild”. The purpose of this was motivation for himself and to help motivate people wishing to push their personal limits forward. He believes the meaning behind “Never Give Up” runs very deep and is more of a lifestyle. “When we are on the verge failure or simply wanting to give up, people might tell us to “keep going”, “keep trying” and “never give up”. The same goes for us when we bear witness to someone struggling, we encourage that person to press on and to go through that tough obstacle. Hearing the words “never give up”, speaking and believing in the very essence of their meaning is a strong motivator and certainly inspiring. Living by those words is truly a life changer” – Terry Boulanger.
Terry also believes the meaning behind “Run Wild” is within us all. “It is that fire that burns inside us, ready to flare up at any given time. Motivation and inspiration are like gasoline and when added to our fire we feel as though we can accomplish anything. We set goals and believe that what one person can do, anyone can do. Positive thinking and positive attitude along with the paradigm never give up is truly an unstoppable combination. This is where we can push our limits and try new things, hit new milestones and achieve goals. Run – get up and go and keep going and don’t look back. Wild – the sky is the limit, try something different and remember there is no stopping you, you can do it!” – Terry Boulanger
Inspired by adventurers like Les Stroud “Survivorman” and Edward Michael Grylls “Bear Grylls”, Terry wanted to take his adventuring to a new level. He wanted to start documenting his progress and achievements and be able to share it with the world. He wanted to start helping charities by raising funds and awareness for special causes. Helping others provides a sense of meaning and increases our happiness. “What we give truly defines our legacy. . . Give for the future and for a better world” – Terry Boulanger
