It’s been fairly quiet around here, not something that will become a new normal, I won’t allow that! Why has it been so quiet? As you know this website is new, I selected a Canadian company to host my website. Hostpapa seemed like the ideal choice because it is local, Canadian owned, employs Canadians and has excellent reviews. What’s the problem you ask? Customer service! Up selling! Fraud!
I have maybe a dozen pictures and a dozen blogs and somehow my site which had the business hosting package was spiking the server. A simple WordPress website from their very own site builder. I have been receiving emails stating that I must take action and reduce the server usage, the technical support and account administrator were not very specific. I followed every recommendation including adding some plug-ins in reducing Cron jobs. It was quiet for a few days and then I received another email from the accountant administrator, there is still an error. Big surprise!
I started doing a web search in regards to the emails sent from Hostpapa account administrators and lo and behold a lot of other people were having the same issues. Some as far as placing blame as fraudulent attempts to up sell. I had a phone conversation with an account administrator, after explaining why I chose the host and my desire to support local business and fellow Canadians The account administrator did not care at all, very poor customer service and after all this I threaten to move my site to another host and this account administrator could care less.
Customer service is extremely important to me. I believe in being positive when dealing with people whether it’s friends, family or strangers. At the very least be positive and whatever the problem it can be worked out. There has to be some type of synergy and thinking win-win.
I’m telling you all this because I believe in full transparency, I do ask for donations to help me along with certain costs. Transparency is the only way to go and this website will remain transparent.
After a couple of days of searching the Internet, reading a ton of reviews and visiting many different hosting websites I found a solution that will work for me.

Its been one week hosting with Hawkhost and the site is running great, performance is excellent, amazing price for a semi dedicated server, top notch customer service and great support. Today I received another email from Hostpapa claiming the site is spiking their server again. All the contents of the site have been moved into a “test” folder and as previously mentioned the site has been hosted with Hawkhost for a week. I replied threatening legal action and requested a refund. Never have I seen or heard of anything like this before.
On a positive note, the site is moving forward and I am moving forward with my goals. I will continue to remain transparent and I look forward to a very adventurous future. I plan on integrating a Youtube account and try to do a couple of video blogs, I’ve even purchased a selfie stick! I am very nervous about this next step but hey, this site is about never giving up, so I say to myself “Never Give Up”. Do it, and if i look ridiculous then I look ridiculous but do it!
